Reminiscent of the sought after golden era models this impeccably hand made Atkin Thirty Six guitar has gorgeous sunburst and benefits from Aged Nitrocellulose Finishing. Features include some specially chosen Baked Sitka Spruce in the top and hand-scalloped bracing. The aged finishing helps not only create the look and feel of a loved and expertly cared for older instrument from new, it also provides a feel and sound that will have you thinking its a played in classic rather than a fresh build. Read on for a bit of history about the influences behind this Atkin 36 (thirty Six) guitar and its body shape and sound in the words of the team who created it. Also referred to as the Parlor guitar (depending on where you are in the world), this design is among the smallest of acoustic guitar body shapes. 1936 was a great year for the Parlor design and our ‘Thirty Six’ takes inspiration from those very guitars right at the time they became a pivotal part of American Folk and Blues music.
