About this guitar - This particular serial number 4042 O size with slotted headstock 12 fret to body acoustic has a very small finish flaw that is pictured in the thumbnail images on the page (please click to enlarge them). This Atkin O37s in Argentine Grey has a pre aged from new finish anyway, but there are a few patches on the top that have gone slightly awry during the hand built and hand finished construction.
We keep trying to grow our lovely family of Atkin guitars, but as fast as they arrive they seam to find homes. So although we are ordering more and more, we still find ourselves continually chasing the wonderful team at Atkin for more build slots. One of the reasons for the ever upwards demand are the awesome 12 fret to body 37 series models, and never more so when this combines with the splendid Argentine Grey subtly aged Nito finish.
This majestic Atkin O37s 12th Fret Guitar in Argentine Grey has a design that locates the bridge onto the most sensitive and responsive part of the instruments sound board. As a result this Atkin O37s has a totally wonderful O size tonal character and looks amazing. Check out the slotted headstock and Torrefied Sitka top.
The Atkin O model offers a deceptively big sound while being attractively compact. The small body, combined with the O’s shorter scale length, makes for an exceptionally comfortable guitar to hold and play. This model is characterized by a clear, focused tone that fingerpickers and flatpickers alike will love. We offer the O model in two different formats. The Atkin O 12-fret has a slotted headstock and a 12th fret neck joint, providing the traditional looks and sound for this style of guitar.
