Taking a familiar slope shouldered design and reducing the dimensions to create a wonderfully creative and articulate smaller almost 000 type instrument. This Atkin The Nineteen 19 Guitar has much of characteristics we want from a slope build but without the bulk. Blessed with only premium quality carefully selected woods, this Atkin 19 boasts a Baked Sitka Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides and a genuine mahogany neck. We especially like the 24.9 scale and the very subtle and sympathetically aged sunburst Nitrocellulose finishing with Atkin & Banner Vintage Decal. Comes with official case and will be expertly checked and set up in our workshop.

This small body slope shoulder guitar was a new addition to the Atkin range. Released in 2019, this model carries the year as it’s name. ‘The Nineteen’ is the result of a collaboration between Alister Atkin and Rudi Bults. The body width is 15″ across the bottom bout and the depth is 4 7/8″. With a 24.9″ scale length the Nineteen feels more like a OOO than a J. This guitar has a rich, warm tone perfect for accompanying a singer. A classic Sitka and Mahogany combo.

Our Thoughts

The Atkin The Nineteen is a beautifully crafted tribute to the pre-war 0-size guitars of the 1930s. Compact and lightweight, it offers an intimate playing experience that’s full of vintage charm. The aged finish adds authenticity, giving it the look and feel of a well-traveled, well-loved instrument.

Despite its small body, The Nineteen surprises with its rich, articulate tone — warm, woody lows, sweet mids, and a sparkling top end. It’s incredibly responsive, making it ideal for fingerstyle playing, blues, and folk. The comfortable neck and impeccable setup make it a joy to play right out of the case.

For those seeking a classic, characterful guitar with a voice far bigger than its size suggests, The Nineteen is a standout gem in Atkin’s lineup.
