Hotter Lipstick pickup tone - The Dan O Cool features two 1950s-style Lipstick pickups, retaining one of the most recognisable ingredients in the classic Danelectro sound. They deliver the sweetness, rich harmonics, and distinctive sparkle associated with the original design, but Danelectro has increased their output to provide some additional muscle. The bridge pickup is 30% hotter than vintage specifications, while the neck pickup is 20% hotter. This gives you familiar Dano character with extra punch and attitude, expanding on the vintage formula without losing the qualities that make Lipstick pickups so distinctive.
Classic '50s Danelectro details
The Dan O Cool draws inspiration from several points in Danelectro's history, bringing together distinctive details from across the '50s. Its instantly recognisable Full Bell headstock is based on the design first seen in 1954, while the quirky Skate Key tuning machines take their inspiration from '58. The rarely seen U3 pickguard design reaches back to 1955, adding another period-inspired detail to the instrument. Together, these appointments give the Dan O Cool an unmistakably retro appearance that celebrates the individual personality of Danelectro's original electric guitars.
A traditional rosewood saddle bridge based on Danelectro's 1954 design adds another vintage-inspired element to the Dan O Cool. The rosewood construction contributes a naturally warm, sweet tonal quality with a smooth, organic response, providing a complementary balance to the bright sparkle of the Lipstick pickups. If you prefer greater adjustment, an adjustable saddle bridge is also included with the guitar. It uses the same three-screw mounting pattern as the rosewood design, making it straightforward to swap between the two options and choose the setup that best suits your preferences. Although the Dan O Cool takes plenty of inspiration from Danelectro's past, useful practical touches give you additional flexibility. The supplied adjustable saddle bridge provides an alternative to the traditional rosewood design, while 21 frets and E Standard factory tuning give you a familiar playing setup. Chrome hardware complements the guitar’s gloss finish, with the Full Bell headstock, Skate Key tuners, and U3 pickguard completing its distinctive appearance.
