Forget the Snobbery of Brands
For around 40 years I have owned and still own several Fender USA and Fender Mexican guitars and basses. These have served me well as a semi-pro gigging musician and I feel I have really got to know the feel, look and sound of good quality passive 4 and 5 string basses and an active 4 string over the years. However, I was taken by a review on a popular online video channel which compared in detail this Squier Classic Vibe 60s Jazz Bass with a Fender custom shop equivalent at many times the price. The Squier competed admirably against it's expensive Fender cousin so I thought I would give one a try. I am astounded at the quality, feel, look and sound of this inexpensive (in relative terms) instrument. It feels and sounds just as good as my USA and Mexican Fenders and looks tremendous. I am delighted with this purchase and now need to shake off the snobbery and use it live which I will be doing next week. Thank you Project Music Guitars for a wonderful set-up before sending. This made trying the new instrument for the first time so much more enjoyable and satisfying. Happy days.
